NEXUS Interview Checklist
In order for your interview to go well, you will need to bring a few things to present to the CBSA and CBP officers in order to get approved for your NEXUS Card.
NEXUS Appointment Information
When you book your appointment, print out the information and put the Appointment Confirmation in a safe place. This is just for your reference but you don’t want to show up at the wrong time and be turned away. You should bring it with you to the interview just in case there is any confusion as to whether or not you have an appointment.
You must print off and bring your Conditional Approval notification to your interview. The Conditional Approval notification can be found in your TTP Dashboard, after you have logged in and agreed to the Terms and Conditions.
Original Documents to Prove NEXUS Eligibility
If you listed a document on the NEXUS membership application, you must bring your original to the interview. This includes:
- Valid passport
- Valid driver’s license
- Birth Certificate (if applicable)
- Citizenship or Naturalization Certificate (if applicable)
- Permanent Resident Card or Green Card (if applicable)
- Visa (if applicable)
- Work Permit (if applicable)
- Study Permit (if applicable)
If you forget one of these documents, your application may be refused.
Additional Documentation for Your NEXUS Interview
We recommend to come prepared and bring as much evidence as you can that you qualify. You will likely not need it, but it never hurts to be over-prepared. We strongly recommend bringing your vehicle information and at least one additional proof of residence.
Vehicle Information for Your NEXUS Interview
Make sure you have your vehicle’s license plate number, make and model, and colour on hand in case you are requested to provide the information.
Proof of Residence Options for Your NEXUS Interview
If you do not have a valid driver’s license (with your current address on it), you must bring one of these items:
- Bank statement with your address, OR
- Credit Card statement with your address, OR
- Utility bill with your address.
Your driver’s license is usually accepted as proof of residence but it is good to have a second piece.

Name Change Documentation
- If you have changed your name you will need both your birth certificate and your name change document.
Documentation for Children for NEXUS Interviews
If only one parent is accompanying the child to their interview, the other parent will have to provide a consent letter for the NEXUS application at the time of the interview.
