FAQ

Are Canada NEXUS enrollment centers open?

Yes, you can also sign up for our newsletter for NEXUS-related updates or search Google news.

Does the NEXUS interview need to be done in person?

Yes, we don’t know of any exceptions at the moment. Please note: Interviews are for first-time NEXUS applicants and people who let their NEXUS expire.

What is a faster enrollment center, an airport or a land crossing?

Because interviews work by appointment, it will not matter that much.

What is a better place to interview, an airport or land crossing?

Pick the less busy location.

Can I be denied at the NEXUS enrollment interview?

Yes, but this rarely happens. In theory, if you have been convicted of a crime after your pre-approval, and you disclosed this fact at the interview, you run the risk of being denied. Also, if you are abusively rude to the officer, this can, in theory, run the risk of being denied.

How long does it take to get a NEXUS card after the interview?

Ten calendar days; for more info, please click here.

Are there any restrictions on which NEXUS enrollment center I can choose?

Any place within your nation or at any land enrollment center.

Will I be interviewed by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), or Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA)?

At Canadian airport enrollment centers, CBSA officers will conduct the Canadian part of the NEXUS interview. If you’re departing from Canada to the United States, the U.S. interview with CBP will follow at Canadian airport. This is also the same at land crossings.

What do I need to bring at the time of my interview?

I have some changes of information that I need to update. Can I do this at the time of my interview?

For updating information on your NEXUS card, it’s generally advised to report changes to your personal information, such as address or legal name, to the NEXUS program as soon as the change occurs.

You can report changes to your personal information by:

  1. Logging into your Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) account and updating your information online.
  2. Or, have the new documents ready at the time of your interview, if you could not update the new information online.

It’s important to keep your information up to date to ensure the continued validity of your NEXUS card and to prevent any issues.
